Communicating for Office Tech Updates

For every early adopter on your staff, there is another member who needs help understanding even the simple aspects of a new technical system. Communicating effectively before, during, and after the rollout of a technical update is essential for a smooth transition, even if it’s something as simple as a software upgrade.

As soon as you’ve solidified the details of your transition, communicate the timeline to your staff. This will give them the opportunity to ask questions and mentally prepare for the change. They may also bring up useful concerns about how the upgrade will impact their individual jobs that you haven’t thought of yourself.

During and after the transition, work with your IT professional to make sure staff has easy access to the right experts and resources to troubleshoot any issues. Just knowing help is available can ease any uncertainty.
