Is your website geared towards children, or visited by users under 13? It’s cliché these days to talk about five-year-olds helping previous generations with Facebook, ten-year-olds making accidental iPhone purchases, and three-year-olds expecting magazines to work like tablets.
Children may be tech-savvy in some ways, but they also need more online privacy than adults and teens. In fact, it’s the law.
If your site serves kids under 13, you need to have privacy protection in place. This includes things like requiring a declaration of age before accessing sensitive content, disclosing your data collection practices to parents, and providing a way for personal information to be deleted if consent is revoked.
