Microsoft Ends XP Support

As of April 8, Microsoft officially ended support of Windows XP, its 12-year-old operating system. Nearly 40% of companies around the world still use Windows XP, and if you still are, now is a good time to talk to your IT professional about upgrading. Windows XP is expected to become increasingly vulnerable to security threats as it ages and without proper tech support, you could be at greater risk for attack. In light of last week’s news concerning the Heartbleed bug, upgrading is less of an option and more of a necessity. Assess your companies current needs and talk to your IP professional about whether upgrading to Windows8 or switching to a Mac-based system is for you.   Windows XP small business support   By Prasana William
