Are your legacy systems impeding AI adoption?

Is your business dependent on aging systems? You and your employees are comfortable with the software. It’s familiar, and it still works well for your company.

If you’re looking to introduce efficiencies through AI to your business, you may have a problem. Your old system isn’t structured to collect enough data because storage was costly when designed, or it collects data badly in challenging formats. AI can’t help your business if it’s only getting half a picture from a lack of data.

What can you do? Take a hard look at what systems need an update. You want to identify updates that can improve processes and capabilities.

What processes already in place can benefit from automation driven by AI? What AI initiatives are you considering now? Some systems may not need a complete overhaul, which is time-consuming and expensive.

Middleware and APIs exist that can connect your old system with newer technologies. Your old system may have lots of data, but retrieving it is difficult. Data engineers can help with retrieval.

Are you overwhelmed and not sure where to begin updating? Generative AI (GenAI) tools can help. It’s best to start with a small part of the system when using GenAI. Once you’ve perfected the process, you can expand it to other parts of your legacy systems.
